Drain Cleaner Hot Sauce started in 2020 as a DIY art project in LA using homegrown chilis. That origin matters. The brand didn't come out of a food incubator or a licensing deal. It came out of someone growing peppers and figuring it out.

In 2024, chef Harrison Shewchuk joined the team, bringing serious culinary credibility to the lineup. The result is our sauces, that were made by people who know about flavor, and who care.

Real Ingredients, Real Heat

Goat Mylk is habanero and BBQ'd pineapple. Liquid Fuego uses tamarind, honey, and habanero. Specimen 7 starts with jalapeño and habanero and adds roasted bell pepper, fresh tomato, cumin, and coriander. The World Famous Chili Oil is ghost pepper, star anise, cardamom, grapeseed oil, and garlic shallots - slow-cooked for depth.

These aren't ingredients you find in mass-market hot sauces. They're more expensive, more time-consuming, and they produce flavors that can't be faked at scale.

Why It Tastes Different

Mass-produced hot sauce is engineered for consistency across millions of bottles. That means stripping out complexity, using stabilizers, and optimizing for a shelf life measured in years.
